Canada beat Belgium in a great battle 3:2 in Novi Sad, Serbia. The victory was their first in Group 1 since the competition format was revamped in 2013. John Gordon Perrin said: "I am happy with this victory, it is important for us. We are a young team, so we were struggling a little bit, but that is normal because we are still building our game. I think we’re going to improve a lot more in the future and this is a promising start for us in the World League".
