After a slick, one handed dig by Kartev, teammate Trevor Langvand follows suits, keeping the ball alive with a gutsy one handed effort of his own that sends the ball soaring towards the head referee, nearly horizontally in line with the net. With no real play on the ball, deMan makes the only play he can from that spot, absolutely side-slicing the ball from a nearly impossible angle – sending the ball soaring high back into play. With the Thunderbird D not expecting the save, the ball rolls gingerly off the net, finding a home on the hard-court, giving the Cougars the point much to the chagrin of the stunned Thunderbirds, who clearly caught off guard. “During that play I knew my only option was to put as much side spin on it as possible and hope to get lucky, and I did. Without the dig from Grigor and a great save by Trev it wouldn't have been possible – so lot's of recognition to my two teammates for making that happen.”, said deMan.
