Bulgaria won the World Grand Prix Group 3 and was promoted for next year to Group 2 after a fantastic victory over Czech Republic in front of excited audience in Samokov 3:0 (25:16, 25:13, 25:17). Czechs, by many considered favorites of the group, seemed to be not in condition after the exhausting match against Croatia in the semifinals and didn't offer much of a resistance. However, it started equal but just after 6 points, it was obvious who will be the player of the match. Dobriana Rabadzhieva scored 5 points of hers between two technical time-outs giving Bulgaria a comfortable advantage. Distance event went to 9 (21:12), when Havlichkova tried to initialize some resistance. Rabadzhieva again denied it closing the set 25:16. Second set was even faster and easier for Bulgarians. Rabadzhieva scored 7 more, well assisted by Ruseva and Vasileva, made to triumph closer. With only Havlickova resisting on the other side of the net and bunch of errors of the opposing team, for the Lionesses was not that to reach for the prize - 25:13. Same story on fast forward was the third set. Strong block, killing serve, smooth attack. Everything was well for Bulgaria to make close the match 25:17. Dobriana Rabadzhieva scored at most for the winners 16 points, and Havlickova gave 13 for Czech Republic.
