Bulgaria faced the perfectly working machine Germany in the final of the European games in Baku. In the first two sets Bulgaria made too many unforced errors and that was severely punished. The only watchable set is the third, where the level of the game is equal on both sides. Bulgarian middle-blockers vs Germany and its spikers. Germany became the deserved champion - the first team with the best preparation for the tournament. Christian Fromm was the best player in the final with 21 points! Thanks to Viktor Poletaev, Russia won the bronze medal against Poland 3:1.
