+1, it is wasting him when they used him as MB and opposite at the same time in important matches, I compleately agree, its a good way to have some new solutions and make the opponents life diffrent and to mess with their tactics, but in the final I would have used him as a full opposite. But I still have some faith in that rotation, if they practice it it can acheave great results and they will allways have a backup plan to suprise opponents.

I agree with You. It is wasting a potential of this player. It could be good for "education", but it's not an excuse. Playing with Rossi would be better.

It could improve his skills a little, but... come on, it's wasting of him in the final.

You have a point there, but there is one more thing that speaks the opposite way of what you say, if Sokolov is MB half of the time, that means that the opponents MB has 2 guys to consider in the middle, and also on position 2.(I would not use this rotation for a long time tho, next season I'd change the rotation back), but it gives him completeness and he is more flewid, natural and spontanious what will be useful in a long periode of time.

Sokolov is opposite of the likes of Milijkovic, Ganev or Omrcen, he should be the main weapon in attack and bring over 30 pts in 5 sets. Not using him like it should decreases overall spiking efficiency, because half of the time he is idle and the opponent knows Cuneo won't attack with primo tempo. This is not tactics for final gane, it may be useful for education, but losing title for educating one player is very generous for me.

Raylight, Kohut is playing MB all the time, but Cuneo is not wasting Sokolov's potential, they are showing that. If you had to choose over a player who can do everything very well and a one who can play one position a little better, than who will you choose? Volleyball is not mathematics, volleyball has no unbendable rules, volleyball is also not based on stats (if you have the best stats, than you are not automatically the best), volleyball is VERY spontanious sport, full of quick decitions, you don't have time to calculate the best possible way, you need to rely on instincts. Trust me Sokolov is getting better and better player like this, Cuneo has more options like this, now they can choose who will attack on what position, spetializing is a great thing, but you need to adapt to everything, like Murilo, Kaziyski, Mastrangelo, Juantorena, Zaytsev, Simon, Giba, Mikhaylov, they can all switch position if they are needed to, they are not overspetialized.

Cuneo is just wasting Sokolov's potential with this rotation. Ngapeth needs more consistency. Rossi and Kohut should be playing MB's as they are.

Amazing match. Can't say with words. Divis and Nilson were unstoppable in attack. Grbic played well but I think he couldn't make his attackers more efficient (just a little bit more they needed). Total lost of Sokolov in the 3rd set. Grbic didn't pass him at all. N''Gapeth kind of nervous at time to time. Wijsmans was there for the hard balls all match. One of the most remarkable finals !

I'm really disappointed with Zaksa, reception was bad, there was actually no play in defense and Pawel Zagumny was setting bad aswell. As we say in Poland: "Setter is like wine, the older the better" but somehow Pawel is recently losing his quality ;/

my prediction is Zenit vs Kozle for the final! Zenit is in an amazing shape last month so i believe hard or easy will be in the final!
Kozle vs Cuneo will be an amazing game, both teams having amzing setters and outside hitters
Cuneo has more efficiant opposite Sokolov than Rouzier and Kozle playing better with middles!
Let the game begin!

Gladyr - zdecydowanie poprawił zagrywkę, a dokładniej jej regularność.
Siatkarski drwal.
Znakomicie wszedł do drużyny, to on robił różnice w meczach np. ze Skrą.

Powodzenia !!!

ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle seems not to be in their best shape like in matches with Arkas. Only Ruciak improved his shape significantly. I hope that they're preparing a real surprise.

In the second match Kazan is a favourite, but it's a Russian derby. We'll see :)
