The stars on EuroVolley 2013: Matevž Kamnik (Slovenia) Matevž Kamnik is young Slovenian middle-blocker who come from the second largest city in Slovenia and home of the best Slovenian players: Maribor. At first he played for the local team, OK Maribor.

Before he started playing volleyball professionally, he was training skiing for 10 years. Kamnik hopes that he will back to skiing after finishing volleyball career. But he didn't regret decision to be a volleyball player of course. His successes in the last couple of years also prove that his choice was the right one. Kamnik explains that volleyball is an interesting, because it is a team sport and needs good communication among teammates and a team spirit. He played for ACH Volley Bled since 2006. He won Top Teams 2006/07 with Bled and European League 2007 with Slovenian national team. The year 2010 was very successful for Kamnik and culminated in the award for the Best Blocker in the Final Four of Champions League 2009/10 in Łódź (Poland). His team ACH Volley Bled was fourth then. He had 12 blocks in two matches of that tournament. He said that he will always remember that day, but he said also that he must always look ahead, towards new victories and awards. He won Slovenian League in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012. After eight years spent in Slovenia Kamnik he moved to German Bundesliga and he will play in Generali Unterchahing. His team will play in Champions League in next season. Slovenia will play in EuroVolley 2013 against Serbia, Netherlands and Finland.
