From October 6 to 13, 2013, Brazil will be the proud host of the first edition of the Men’s Under 23 World Championships Open that will take place in Uberlandia. The FIVB Volleyball U23 World Championships Open for men and women will provide another opportunity for age-group players to participate in an international tournament with the goal of reducing the gap between age-group and senior level volleyball.

Brazil - Serbia 3:2 (29:27, 15:21, 21:17, 19:21, 15:13)

3rd place match (13.10.2013):

Russia - Bulgaria 3:1 (22:24, 22:20, 27:25, 21:15)

5th place match (12.10.2013):

Venezuela - Iran 0:3 (14:21, 21:23, 17:21)

7th place match (12.10.2013):

Argentina - Tunisia 3:0 (21:19, 21:15, 21:15)

Semi-finals (12.10.2013):

Brazil - Russia 3:0 (21:16, 22:20, 25:23)
Serbia - Bulgaria 3:0 (21:13, 21:18, 21:10)

Semi-finals - Classif. 5/8 (12.10.2013):

Argentina - Venezuela 0:3 (18:21, 14:21, 14:21)
Iran - Tunisia 3:1 (21:13, 21:18, 18:21, 21:17)

There will be 12 participants per gender, which will be filled by two countries from each continent (to be determined by each Confederation), the highest ranked country in the senior FIVB world rankings and the host country. The teams are split in 2 groups:

Group A:

1. Brazil 14 points/ 15:2 sets
2. Bulgaria 12/ 12:4
3. Argentina 9/ 12:8
4. Tunisia 6/ 8:11
5. Egypt 4/ 5:12
6. Dominican Republic 0/ 0:15

Group B:

1. Serbia 15 points/ 15:1 sets
2. Russia 12/ 12:4
3. Iran 9/ 10:6
4. Venezuela 6/ 7:11
5. Australia 3/ 4:13
6. Mexico 0/ 2:15

The championship will be play under new rules. Sets will be play until 21. point, except 5th set (until 15, as usual). There will be only one technical time-out, when team take 12 points. Your predictions and expectations, and I hope it gonna be some links for watching:)

Russia will get first, Brasil (or France) will get second, Serbia will get third. Antanasijević will be awarded best scorer and Ngapeth will be best spiker. Polteav will also recieve an award.

Hey wilfredo dry your lips ! Poletaev is at home in Kazan with his girlfriend (sorry for you) r ...and it will be difficult for Earvin to be best spiker because France is not at U23.

Brasil played well, but Serbia also played tough. Serbia was so close. They made some mistakes in blocking and of course Atanasijević missed some crucial serves, but I am still proud of Serbia, but overall they could have done better. ?
