What eRKa said + "no pain - no gain". In other words - you either go outside and practice as much as you can with someone who can tell what you're doing good and what you're doing wrong or you'll never improve your game. Reading some tips is nothing compared to practice.

My advice is : Always watch and observe the opponent's block during the game.

Allways jump with full power, when you practice try new things, work hard on timing.

2*train on timing(when to spike)
3*watch the block
5*hit with full power in 45degres

if you're giving advice here maybe you can help me also

how can i improve my game in defence and reception? i know it's all about how fast you move on court so what type of exercise i can do to be faster on my feet? it's not working on gym with muscles...

You must not be on straight legs, you must be really low, I often forget about that, but if I go low, I can clearly see the difference

Well, if you pass during the warmup and you bump(pass not using the fingers) than touch the ground before the ball gets to you, we sometimes do it

this topic really annoyed me in such degree that i had to registrer to post!

spiking: really "show off" you chest, get your hitting arm far away from the net, so you can create more power. also remember to start the motion with your hips.

defence: always be on your toes. and get your shoulders up while while bump passing.

hopefully, this post was unnecessary, and you've heard it before.
