VolleyVids 2014-07-10 • 1071 views

Finland and Belgium were able to start the match without any pressure as the latter had already secured the top spot in group C, while Finland landed in third place. Both teams showed high quality volleyball from the start, with excellent attacking versatility and spectacular defensive plays. The best scorer of game was Urpo Sivula who had 24 points. Coaches from both sides gave a lot of responsibility to their young middle blockers: Tommi Siirila from Finland and Martijn Colson who both responded to the challenge very well. Belgium will play in Final Four in Sydney on 11-12 July. The semifinals will feature knockout clashes between Australia and the Netherlands, and France and Belgium. France and Belgium will also be playing each other for the first time in the World League, but have previously met in the World Championship qualification tournament, where the Belgians won in five sets.
