Sousse, Tunisia, September 26, 2013- Defending champions Egypt claimed their fourth win in row against Algeria 3-2 (25-22 25-18 24-26 18-25 15-9) in the fourth day of the 2013 Men's African Nations Championship held in Sousse, Tunisia on Thursday.
With third victory Egypt improved to win- loss ratio of 4-0 with 11 points, while Algeria dropped to 0-4 with 4 points.
Now Egypt team is only two sets away from their fifth consecutive crown when they meet Morocco on the fifth and final day of the 6 nation round robin tournament as they topped the competition with 11 points followed by host Tunisia who defeated Morocco 3-1 (27-29, 26-24, 25-22, 25-18) with 3-1 ratio (8 points). Morocco came third with 3-1 (7 points) ahead of Cameroon who came fourth following a straight sets (25-16 25-17 25-19) win against Libya with 2-1 (6 points). Algeria (4 points) and Libya (0 points) both winless with 0-4 are ranked fifth and sixth.
Tunisia came from one set behind to clinch a 3-1 (27-29, 26-24, 25-22, 25-18) over Morocco who suffer their first defeat. After Morocco played their best in the first and second sets where the result was level 1-1, Tunisia dominated the match using their spike service to win the third and fourth sets.
Cameroon took over Libya 3-0 (25-16 25-17 25-19) in 72 minutes to secure their second win and improve to 2-2 with 6 points. Libya dropped to 0-4 with zero points.
