Japanese Defense Won Tall Block From Belarus
Defending champion Japan did not had bigger problems in winning this match against the tall oponent Belarus primarily because of its excellent defense. Tall players from Belarus could not stop a Japanese perfectly organized game in first two sets. In the third set, they lost few crucial points, and this set, too. They come back in the third set and won the match!

Russians woke up on time
The match started at 20:45 when in Russia was already late, so Russian players were sleeping through the first set and they lost it. Finally, in the second set they woke up and they won it easily as well the rest of the match. Dominican Republic had too many errors.

A Big Tournament Sensation
As the match started nobody would predict that Dominican Republic had any chances of winning, but by winning the third set they stayed in the game, and at the end of the fifth set they turned out as winners. Team head coach, Cruz Jimenez commented his team victory: Both teams could win, the game was very close. At the end won the Latin American courage. This match was boring because neither one of two teams played a decent defense. Both teams have tall girls and base their game on attack, so the points were short and without any excitement. Russian team had a lot of troubles winning this match. Japanese strong defense digged many Russian tough hits, but after five sets European team finally succeeded. For them was enough to take one set from the Japanese team in order to go to the next round. As first ranked in their pool, Russia goes directly to quarter finals.

Czech Team Goes Home
The winner from this match, Italy stays and continues to play-off elimination group, while a loser team from Czech Republic is out as a fourth in its pool. Czech game was very oscilating, especially in the last and fourth set when they had 16:6, and 22:17, but lost it by 25:23. Italian head coach, Luca Pieragnoli had many substitutions in the fourth set and that brought him victory. The best team scorer on the Italian team was Valentina Da Col with 20 points.
