Italy returns the World League podium after 9 years! Italy repeated their London 2012 Olympic Games bronze medal result by beating Bulgaria 3:2 (21:25, 25:21, 25:20, 21:25, 15:7). Luca Vettori, the youngest member in Italy's Finals squad, was a late replacement for injured captain Cristian Savani and was the match's top scorer , he scored 29 points in that match. "I feel very good," he said. "I was a bit surprised [to play] because yesterday I didn't, but today I played a wonderful match. I didn't expect this so to do very well is surprising". “Azzurri” picked up their 14th medal in World League history. They celebrated the last trophy (silver) in 2004. "I’m so happy. It wasn’t easy to win this match, we were tired and our captain is injured which was a problem but we are very proud because we could manage our difficult moments", said Emanuele Birarelli (middle-blocker of Italy NT).
