My response to FIVB's response to recent incident.

It is disappointing to see how FIVB responses to the recent incident between Serbian volleyball team with Thailand volleyball team. They have decided to put out two statement via Twitter stories and Instagram stories, which is a 24hr limit posting service. In both statement, there isn't any mention of combating racism or condemning any form of racism. This left a sour taste in my mouth.

a) Why are the official statements or “updates” put on 24hr limited post service?

Knowing both, Twitter and Instagram, have a posting service that doesn't disappear, why are they choosing stories? There isn't any reason for FIVB to choose publicly addressing the issue via a story that will disappear. Is it “racism” 24 hr problem and it will disappear itself without any real statement? or is FIVB not able to realize the importance of the investigation and the significance of the whole issue.

b) Why isn't there any direct statement on combating racism?

“The FIVB is committed to fostering understanding, solidarity and unity against all forms of discriminatory behavior.” Do not minimize the main issue we are dealing with. We applauded FIVB's commitment on “against any forms of discrimination” but we are dealing with apparent, openly, direct forms of racism in court, filmed on camera and televised worldwide. It is mind blowing to me that FIVB couldn't even issue a statement of condemnation of all form of racially charged action and racism in and out of the game without mentioning the incident itself.

I am deeply concerned on how FIVB treats their racial minority member within the volleyball community and despite FIVB's stride on fighting against all forms of discrimination. FIVB still fails to protect racial minority and the Asian community from racially charged acts and racism.
