On Sunday evening Poland beat Italy in four sets (25:22, 25:23, 23:25, 25:15) in Łódź, in their second home match of the World League 2014. With this result they moved to the third place in Group A, while Italy remained on top of the standings. Polish National Team totally dominated all offensive elements of volleyball. Italian national team without Ivan Zaytsev it's not the same team. Top scorer of match was Mateusz Mika (new player of Trefl Gdańsk) with 21 points. Also Rafał Buszek had good reviews after that game. The best player from Italy was Luca Vettori with 21 points. Stephane Antiga on the press conference said: "I am very satisfied with this victory, the goal was to score three points and we did. I am proud of all the guys, we fought on the court, played very well, especially in block-defense. In general we spiked good as well. Do not ask Bartosz Kurek, Michal Winiarski or Piotr Nowakowski why they did not play tonight, it was my personal decision. Our training program is that some players started the season very strongly and now have to rest, they may not be in the best shape possible. I see how well Mika, Buszek, Wrona and Klos play and I want them to play as much as possible. It is a very positive thing for the entire team. This means we have a big group of good players, who train together on a high level and keep pushing each other to play even better".
