Portugal in World League 2013 (Trailer)

Portugal national team made its first appearance in the World League in 1999, achieving its best result ever in the 2005 edition of the World League when it finished in fifth place. Under the leadership of former Cuban head coach, Juan Diaz, Portugal also qualified for the World League in 2001 and placed eighth in the 2002 World Championship. In 2006, under coach Francisco dos Santos, Portugal participated for the seventh time in the World League. The following year, Portugal hosted the Final Four of the European League and was very close to claiming its first international trophy but lost 3:2 in the final to Spain. Coach Juan Diaz returned in 2009 and looking for more dynamism and ambition, introduced fresh blood into the team. The year 2010 was one of the best for Portugal. They took second place in the European League in their group, which allowed them to step up to third place on the podium. The team closed the season with its best record, with 18 wins and two losses in 20 games. Flavio Gulinelli took over as coach of the team in 2012. They in last week played against Finland. Portugal in first match lost match 0:3, but the second game they won in the tie-break. This is Group C. Here will play: Canada, South Korea, Finland, The Netherlands, Japan, Portugal. Matches from group C will be played from May 31 to July 07, 2013.
