Many expected that the match-up between the two Asian rivals would be tight, just like their encounters in the past, but the Koreans were betters against Japan in two matches. In the first game South Korea won 3:1. The Korean team made a lot of good actions and powerful spikes. Throughout the match, both teams tried hard to win. Superstar of South Korea NT: Sung-Min Moon in third set was injured. After that injury he was replaced by Seung-Suk Kwak. Captain of South Korea: Lee Sun-Kyo, said: "We spent four weeks in training camp. Our passion and spirit today was amazing, we particularly had strong will power for today’s match against Japan".
