Second full final match between Paris Volley and Tours VB. Let's remind that in order to earn the gold medal of French PRO A, you have to win two games. Everybody in "Salle Robert-Grenon" hall was expecting a celebration after that game. Team from Tours defended French Champion title. They won first match in four sets but in second game they played even better and they presented completely a new face. Tours VB won all sets. In that match David Konecny (15 points, 61% in attack) and Kamil Baranek (12 points, 52% in attack) played great. In the opposite side the best player was Mikko Oivanen, who scored 10 points. Maurico Paes, coach of Tours VB said: "We played on high level of concentration and motivation. We are pleased with this victory. My team won also French Cup and French SuperCup in that season. This is amazing".

oh ya never meant to give the impression i was good jump server, trust me lol im not trying to compare myself to pros at all, that would be very silly. i'm terrible at times but i seem to go through lots of phases with my form and once in a while i get a good streak. Its just something i pay close attention to, in other players and in myself.

@raylight Yes that's right, they are very powerful, also Glinka is a powerful woman. @Joel That's right, I also don't think copying someone's form may bring good results, I mean you can always take some details, but not a whole form in general. I believe our body generates the most convenient form for us, it will start changing to model with complex training provided though. Besides it would be quite boring to watch every player playing bookish style. Volleyball is a team sport, but has some individual elements, like serve and single block. As for the block I'll leave it at that, but jump serve is definitely attracting my attention as an amateur player too. I'm far from trying to describe my jump serve level at a global scale lol, but yeah, when you do it right any pro could have some hard time receiving those. If you're doing it wrong you can only blame yourself. By the way Celitans makes a proper approach jump serving, how could I miss that...

ya i think something like that is a lot more acceptable for a beach player though, after all the sand doesn't allow you to use all that much forward momentum to transfer into a higher and longer jump. your either jumping off of 2 feet or your either jumping off of 2 feet. ok there's more to it dont mean to offend any beach players but u know what i mean. i love watching peoples jump serve form though. its one of my favorite parts of the game, also i focus a lot on it for myself as a player. See i can't really say i'm a good hitter or passer if i'm not playing against pro level blockers or servers. but at least with jump serve all i need is a ball and a net (k and maybe 15000 fans the pressure of match point). So ya i love to watch different forms, its great to see players like zaytsev and savani put strength from their whole body into the swing. needless to say tho i'm not gonna look at this guys form and try it for myself. to each his own lol :)

Ganev and Celtans are extremely powerful despite their approach :) Thanks for the discussion, I learned a lot from it :)

Yeah, but as a beach player he has to keep them together in line to provide optimum leap on the sand. Hard to say how his indoor approach would look like, it could stay the same or look exactly like the one you pointed in this video/made by indoor players I mentioned. Phil switched to right side since he's teamed up with Rosie. When you watch one of their training videos you'll see him finishing his approach with his right/left foot interchangeably. That's definitely something I've never seen before. Anyway quite messy from me to put Phil between indoor players, though the idea of an inverted approach for a right handed player is there. Chceck Fonteles and Sammelvuo, both jumping off both feet together like beach players should, as far as I remember the second one makes a mini-jump before he really leaps out to hit the ball what makes it look weird. There are exactly as many forms as people playing this sport.

that's true Michael i can picture dalhausser's approach in my head and i see that you are correct. though his feet are switched in his approach, he at least has them approximately lined up, rather than right foot way ahead of the left foot.

Thanks for sharing! I've been a huge fan of Skrimov since London Olympics. Does anyone here know whether he's any tranferring news?

I'm sure you have. Ganev, Celitans, Rivaldo, Dalhausser, Glinka. You had to watch at least one of them. Of course in terms of biomechanics it's wrong, limits your swing and therefore power, putting angles, but that's theory. In practice changing this habit might turn out to be impossible.
