Reigning world champions the United States beat Peru 3:0. Tetori Dixon emerged as the top scorer of the USA with 14 points from nine kills, four blocks and one ace. Nicole Fawcett scored 12 and Kelsey Robinson and Lauren Gibbemeyer added eight apiece. USA coach Karch Kiraly said: "We are trying to get better every day in this tournament and in terms of service pressure, we did that today. Our start was not so strong, but we finished much stronger. I liked our team effort and liked the fact that we got better at the service line".
