O, and about Aleksiev, I just wonder why he doesn't serve with more force. I am sure he can since I have watched matches where he actually serves much stronger. If he doesn't loose track of the match and keeps a good rhythm from the start, he performs really well. ?
Poland - Bulgaria 12 years ago +1
Thanks a lot, raylight! You know, I always like to watch these matches of yours when the comentators are foreigners because I can clearly hear what our coach says to the team at the time outs :D
So, we cannot do anything about all this unfairness and it's all up to the players' performance on the court.

I absolutely agree about the hawk-eye! Why can tennis have this and volleyball can't? And to avoid such stupid calculations after the first round, there should be draw for the 1/8 and 1/4 finals. Thus, teams will play ALWAYS for the win and they won't know who their next opponents will be.
''Coach Anastasi confirmed his team did not play for the win in the match Poland-Slovakia''.......
Exactly, NightFox. Sooner or later we meet Russia, but we meet them with pride. Champions know that they have to fight always.
But it was different back then, Damaris, because we played and won, and Brazil weren't even trying to put up some fight at ALL.
Italy-France 2:3

Surprise for me, but Italy gets the first place in their pool anyway so no harm done.
Thanks for the match BG-PL raylight! I sure as hell want to watch it again :D
Bulgaria vs Estonia, that's for sure.

Samueleke, Italy won the first set 28:26, the second 25:22 and now 11:16 for France
Yes, but did you see what ball Zaytsev saved? THAT was GREAT!
Italy- France- 2:0
Russia-Czesh Republic- 3:0

No surprise at all ?
Very happy for Bulgaria's win! Apparently they aren't afraid to face whoever in next matches and did not loose on purpose. They have my full respect for that. ?
Belgium won over France- impressive, it must've been a very good match. Seems Belgium has a very strong team.
Rado Stoychev said that he's very pleased with our percentage in attack- 59%
OK, here is how I saw the match: the first set we started well, but Poles didn't give in, because they had won the day before and the euphoria from that win gave them strenght. They won the first set and I got worried because we shouldn't in any case let the second set slip away.
However, there was a big surprise for me, because in the second set we not only played well, but showed that we were not to be underestimated. Matey was just FANTASTIC, I haven't seen him play thus in a long time. Of course Kubiak and Kurek were pretty good too, not to mention the strong series of serves from Kubiak, who really made life difficult for us. Also when Sokolov came as Vlado's sub, our attack became even better. I had my fingers crossed until the very end of the fourth set, because Poland were so close to make the result even. But we kept our will and stayed in the game to the last-from happiness I even couldn't see who scored the match point-was it Sokolov???....
Of course, our opponents played really class volleyball, so the match was not easy at all. ?
Here is the statistics from the match Bulgaria-Poland :D
