Russell injured ?
@Qyss Yes he was injured during a game with Piacenza. He will not be available this summer.
@Sherlock for whole summer? So that rules him out for the Olympics as well? :o
@jais I think he has done surgery and won't be able to recover for Olympics.
@jais Unfortunately yes…
@JohnSuen what are your thoughts on Italy only playing with B Roster? Apparently Training for the Olympics with the A squad? But what’s better preparation than competition? https://en.volleyballworld.com/volleyball/competitions/vnl-2021/teams/men/4667/players/
@johanneslei regarding my thoughts on Italy only throwing their “b” team to VNL is that they try to “protect“ their players from injury. I am not happy about the decision nor do I think it’s ethical to host a tournament and then turn their back against fans that will watch VNL. Regardless of how Italy is going to treat VNL in the coming days or future, they are doing diservice for the games and their reputation. As for they are training themselves and play against themselves for the Olympic preparation team, I guess Blegani has mind of its own to do the magic it takes for Italy to win a gold medal.
@JohnSuen Yup, that’s what I think as well. Italian gold medal @ olympics? Not gonna happen IMO. Poland, Russia and Brazil Top 3 I guess.
@johanneslei TBH, if they try to bring home the Olympics gold, they have to at the very least beat teams like France, Canada, USA, Argentina and Iran. Neither of the teams mention are easy to beat. I hope that they break their Olympic curse.
