I check fairly often, and usually the World Cup 2007 (or was it World Championships?) were the most recent. Anyways, lots of good video's in there I'm sure. I understand your pain. Canada was at the World League in 2007, and then we were invited back in 2008. And then the organization which funds many olympics athletes and teams decided to cut Canadian Volleyball from their funding list. The team had to drop out a few months before the event because they had no way of coming up with the cash required. Kind of sad really... I think it was Cuba who took our spot though. Needless to say, it's probably going to be a really damn long before we ever get another invite into the World League competition.

Blame Canadian Television. The plan was to get the Gold, Bronze, and Semi-Final games, and on top of that several random matches as well. If it was me doing the recording, I would have gotten every volleyball match possible, but my uncle did all the recordings as a favor for me, so I didn't ask for him to spend all that time trying to record every singe match. The other problem is that Canadian Television is crap for volleyball. I have 1 full match (Gold) and 5 partial matches. If the Olympic stations played volleyball when they were supposed to then I would have had at least 6-10 full matches. Instead, they were scheduled to show a volleyball game, and instead they talked for an hour about useless crap, or showed repeats of other events, and then occasionally tuned in for the final set of a live volleyball game (they even did this with important games such as Semi-Finals and Bronze Medal Match!). Anyways it just happened that about 90% of the footage I managed to get had either Brazil or U.S. in it. The only teams I have are USA, Brazil, Russia, Italy, Serbia, China, so that's why there is no Polish team in this video.

To someone: yes, Vissotto is not the best player of Trentino, I know. Winiarski, Grbic or Kaziyski are much more complete players than him. All these "giants" that I wrote before are opposites or middleblockers. As you wrote, none of them could receive, pass balls or defend properly like Winiarski, Giba or Dante. @ edu: yeah, you're absolutely right, but for me is perfect technic and tactic more important than height - look at giba he isn't super tall but he is really effectic and he is able to read the game.. and i think brazilians were so successful because they had another way to train...3 years ago i had a trainer from brazil - and if you compare brazil trainers and ohter trainers there's a huge difference... for the trainers volleyball is just sport - it's their life...you can say, they live volleyball, and others "just" play and practise
