@davl changing the format that will make top teams to meet more frequently even at the earlier stage would be helpful to eliminate boring games. Your first option is not possible as long as russia keeps doing things on ukraine. For 2nd option, limiting teams would only lessen the audience as other nations wont be participating. As for increasing salary, best players dont only look for good salary. Best players also consider best organizations who have good roster and would sometimes choose to be paid lesser and join these clubs.
@davl the first elimination is supposed to be boring and the easiest, but with only 3 teams in a pool, it will be a shorter match between bad and good teams compared to a pool with 1-2 good and 3 bad teams. At least the teams that will be eliminated first will have a chance to participate, unlike your suggestion to just remove some teams. Changing the format definitely helps the league to be more competitive because the main reason why it is so boring now is a lot of unnecessary matches are played before competitive matches are played, lot of time to wait until the playoffs. Making the best teams compete earlier and more frequently while not actually eliminating any of them will be very helpful and make audience look forward to watching even playoffs and finals is still far.
