Al-Arabi and Al Rayyan make winning starts in Qatar Cup

Al Arabi Club and arch-rivals Al Rayyan Club had a winning but contrasting start in the Qatar Cup Volleyball Championship on Friday.

At the Ali Bin Hamad Al Attiya Arena, the first playoff for both the teams were played and Al Arabi brushed aside El Jaish’s challenge and won by 25-16 27-25 25-18.

In the other matchup, Al Rayyan Club and Police produced thrilling volleyball of rallies and counter-rallies.

After sharing the first four sets, Al Rayyan came through the decider to wrap up a 26- 24 24-26 25-23 25-15 15-12 triumph.
