FIVB Hereos: Wilfredo Leon

Wilfredo is one of the best Cuban players. He started playing for the national team when he was 14, and at 17 he was the team captain. Leon refused to play for Cuba's national team after not being allowed to play abroad. The 4-years suspension would be unprecedented, but the Cuban Volleyball Federation has the power to define the penalty with the approval of government. Typically, players who refuse to play for the national team get a two year suspension and after that resume their careers in different centers in Europe.

if simon had no absence in the representation of cuba i am certain that the interview could be better...simon is a true hero ,i hope that leo will have lucky and one day he will be a match for simon and his idol despaigne

we have many good players in cuba, but only a few are capable to reach the sky.

He's big talent but he has to change the place. If he keep working he will be the best Cuban player ever.

Yes pearl, but world needs new legends, and Leon can be one of them :) But more chances from Cuba has Simon, for me he is very close to become legend...

Despaigne.... it's an high level to reach, and i'm nt sure he can reach that level if he can't play in an high level league

i agree with you Nagor and also i'm glad that FIVB cares about us, they create such videos to introduce "heroes" to us :D about Leon - it's amazing. when i watch this interview he seems so mature, calm and really nice person. but on court he changes into devil :)

Nice, thanks for it :) It is hard to find interviews with Cuban. I think he can reach Despaigne's skill level.
