The fastest changing hairstyles volleyball player. His career started in 2001 when he signed contract with RPA Perugia. He is son of Vyacheslav Zaytsev, player of "gold Soviet team" (he was Olympic, European and World Champion with USSR). Ivan's mother is Russian too: Irina Pozdnyakova, a former competitive swimmer. Ivan was born on 2 October 1988 in Spoleto in Italy, where his father played for several years. At first Ivan was setter, just like his father was. "My father practically never was satisfied with my playing. He was pointing out my mistakes many times, but after match in Belgorod he congratulated me the successful debut." Ivan received Italian citizenship in May 12, 2008.

I suppose that most of the measurements from FIVB pages are entered when the players were U21 and not updated since then. Giba for example jumps much higher than the data says for him. It is like that for many other players.

Yes it is probably like that, becouse in the past kaziyski reached 380 spike and 335 block, it has to be like that becouse putting 1 hand highet is not a 45cm difference.

I think the misure of the reach in block is made on standing position, without steps along the net before jumping... that's - may be - the reason why actually the official reach is lower than we can expect watching the macthes... can it be? and about the cuban guys... he flys!! wow! *_*

Some Cubans have very high block. One U19 player had 374 cm spike and 369 block in Argentina roster http://www.fivb.org/EN/volleyball/competitions/Youth/Men/2011/Players.asp?Tourn=BY2011&Team=CUB&No=137102

@casamodena: in legavolley or M.Roma website there's nothing, in the FIVB is still 355-348
btw he is the italian highest jumper (in spike and expecially in block)

And according to FIVB - if I checked well - Musersky block at 347 (highest value in Russian NT), Leon at 346 (highest value in Cuban NT), Vissotto at 345 (highest value of Brazilian NT). In USA, Finland, Argentina, France, Korea, Puertorico nobody even reachs 340, in Serbia only Kovacevic and in Poland only Nowakowski - both reach 340. In Bulgaria, Germany, Portugal, Japon (the last one surprised me!) the maximum is 345...
so 248 seems to be a lot!!

Zaytsev is the soul of the team, there's not even the shadow of the doubt, he will play unless he will need to rest. Last year he played for 3, without him Rome will be in A2, probably... Trust me, nobody is thinking to keep him on the bench ;)

Has anyone the true values of block and spike jump reach of this guy? Above ones seems to be quite wrong or maybe outdated after seeing this video =) I'd bet at least 350 for block and 365 for attack...
