Luigi Mastrangelo (2nd movie)

The great star of volleyball, real superstar with the skills and attitude, player who saw many big championships and took many medals and titles. Called Gigi by friends ;-) He played 212 matches for the Italian national volleyball team. He was three times gold medalist at the European Championship (1999, 2003 and 2005). Mastrangelo was "Best Blocker" in European Championship 2003 and 2005. He plays for Italian team: Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo. In that season he scored just 55 points (played in 12 matches in season regular of Italian Serie A).

No, I didn't mention him on purpose 'cause I was talking about 'pure' MB and Giani wasn't. He was an universal player. As a universal he often happened to play in the middle (with excellent results) but for me he gave his best when playing as opposite or wing spiker.

pearl, don't forget that he is also the best commentator, too bad I can't understand half of what he says(I have learned a little Italian watching volleyball) :D but I love the way he speaks: "Mamma mia ka pallo! Che paura! Cometa assoluta! Muro, muuuro di Zaytsev!!" He actually knows what he is talking about, he gives you the real picture what is going on on the court, how crazy it really is ;)

The best MB Italy has ever had along with Lucchetta, Gardini and Gravina. A top class player like him could/should have ended the season (and probably his career) in a better way, imo. 1:31 Andrea Luchetta calls this one "no-look attack" :)

Can't say that I like him (I don't like his behaviour ;d) but he indeed is a middle blocker that you should admire

0.08-0.10, this set is sick! In my opinion Mastrangelo has the best tecnique of the middles, he is also amazing in block, still an amazing player ;) Btw, great movie.
