Sidao scored 34 points in Final Eight tournament. After current 2012/13 season in Brazilian Superliga he had spine surgery. He left his national team for World League 2013, but he return the team in August before South American Championships which Brazil won for the 10 time in a row. "It was so hard to watch World League matches on TV, but I will try to recover lost time in South American Championships" he said after returning to the team in August.
