Polish team lost their semi-final with Brazilian team (that was big disappointment for Polish fans) and USA lost with Russia. One of the best players (and best server for sure) of AZS Częstochowa in match against Iskra Odintsovo full of stars like: Giba, Alexey Verbov, Pavel Abramov and Alexey Kuleshov. Iskra was absolute favorite of that match. They have won first match in three sets, but Częstochowa won second match 3:1 and golden set 15:13. When Poland is losing, their fans always sing the "Song about Little Knight", get up and hold national flags or white and red scarfs with text "Polska". "In the wide steppe, which you won't embrace even eagle eye: Get up, raise your head, listen to the words of song about Little Knight!". Poland in World Championships 2006
Movie with the greatest moments of Polish National Team in the World Championships 2006 in Japan. After semi-final against Bulgaria Polish volleyball players became idols of Polish people. Everybody was talking about them. The biggest Polish stars of that tournament was Paweł Zagumny (award for the best setter) and Mariusz Wlazły (nomination for MVP award). Polish league became more popular after World Championships 2006. Attendance during league matches have increased significantly.10 7142 -

Unfortunately Piotr Gruszka sprained his ankle too and as result Poland play without spiker in EuroVolley 2007 (Grzegorz Szymański was in very very poor shape). Grzegorz Szymański in match Poland - Russia
Grzegorz Szymański played the match of his life in November 28, 2006. Mariusz Wlazły started this match as the first spiker, but he couldn't break great Russian wall. Ricardo Garcia is regarded as the best setter in the volleyball history. He totally changed Brazilian style of playing. His sets are sophisticated and unpredictable for the opponent team.
