Mariusz Wlazły 3rd meter spike
Powerful spike by Mariusz Wlazły on the 3rd meter before friendly match between Poland and Canada. On April 8, 2014, Wlazły was appointed to the Polish national team after 4 years of absence, by coach Stephane Antiga. On August 16 was appointed to squad at World Championship held in Poland. On September 21, 2014 the team, including Wlazły, won a title of World Champion 2014. He received two individual awards for Best Opposite Spiker and Most Valuable Player at the Championship. On the day of winning the gold medal, Wlazły announced his retirement from the Polish national team. He said: "My mission for the National Team has come to an end. I am glad that I was part of something this huge but it is time to tell to myself that it is enough. This team can play against the best and I hope that this team will continue to make history". On October 27, 2014 received a state award granted by the Polish President Bronisław Komorowski - Officer's Cross of Polonia Restituta for outstanding sports achievements and to promote Polish in the world.
