Russia - Spain (SET5)

Spanish team won in the Moscow cave of lion (there was 9200 Russian fans). That was first European Champion title won by Spanish team in the history. In that year there was a bizarre situation! In 16th of September there was finals of two competitions: EuroVolley and EuroBasket. In both of finals were fighting teams from Russia and Spain. In volleyball Spain won with Russia (championships were played in Russia) and there was first title won by Spanish team in history of volleyball. Analogously in basketball Russia won with Spain (championships were played in Spain) and there was first title won by Russian team in history of basketball. Five of seven awards went to Russian players. Just Jose Luis Molto get award for the best blocker and Ivan Miljković was the best scorer. Andrea Anastasi proved his great coaching talent. He won EuroVolley twice and World League with Italian national team.
