Iran made a great achievement to overcome Brazil in three sets (25:18, 25:21, 25:22) in their second duel in Group A on the third week of the World League 2014 despite booming cheers from the thousands of supporters who rushed to the Ibirapuera Gymnasium to cheer for the home team on Saturday. Iranian opposite hitter Shahram Mahmoudi top scored again with 18 points, while Brazil’s Wallace Souza did not even reach the double-digit mark with only nine points. Iran captain Mir Saied Marouflakrani said: "It was a wonderful match for us. This is the first time in history that Iran won against Brazil in Brazilian territory. Next week we will have thousands of people supporting us in Iran, but we must fight for every point to win again".
