Ankara, Turkey, June 2, 2017 - Metin Toy brought joy to local audience, when his great shape let Turkey defeat China in five sets, 3-2 (25-22, 25-20, 21-25, 24-26, 15-12).
The opposite helped Turkey keep cool after team lost the momentum in the third set. Hosts led 2-0 when China made a strong come back stretching the match into five sets. Metin Toy scored 25 points for his team but it was Chuan Jiang who was the best scorer of the match with 32 points.
Turkey started to match with an effective service of Arslan Eksi who is the captain of team and they obtained the first score. When the teams came to first technical time out Turkey was ahead with a score of 8-6. Although the Chinese who were thrilled scored 13-16 at the second technical time out, Turkey won the set with a score of 25-22.
The second set started with China's service. As it was in the first set, the first score of the second set went to Turks. When the technical time outs examined, in both Turkey was ahead and China was a leader at just one. At the end, Turkey who took the audience behind won 25-20.
In the third set, China showed a dominant game. They usually took the score ahead. Even if they were behind at the first technical time out with a score of 8-4 they recuperated and they got ahead at the second and third technical time outs. Eventually, they won the set 21-25.
When it comes to fourth set, both teams were very hard to get set. Turkey was behind all of the technical time outs. The set went to extent and China won the set with a score of 24-26.
The last set was very competitive. Turkey didn't allow to China's victory and Turkish National Team was behind the whole technical time outs. At the end, Turkey won the match 15-12.
