Japan is grooming a real monster. This 18 year old 187cm opposite is a true scoring machine. Mainly playing second fiddle to an awful 201cm slow motion opposite, he managed to rack up about 20 points off the bench playing only 2 sets against both Iran and Korea, and was ranked 10th best spiker of the tournament. His vertical is insane. His reach is 350cm. He will very likely be the leader of the team next year and definitely a player to watch.

With all the Haikyuu hype I assume there are people wondering what the actual Japan Junior Volleyball team is like. Sadly, it is pretty mediocre, except for this guy (and another player, but later about him). This kid is probably the second best spiker Japan has all the way up to u23 level, right behind Yuki Ishikawa. These are his highlights from the 18th Asian Men's U20 Volleyball Championship.

This 183cm 19 year old is beasting at the junior levels. Small ace of China junior team was one of the top scorers of the U19 World Championship in Argentina in 2015 where China finished 8th, and was named the best outside spiker at the 2016 Asian U20 Volleyball Championship where China stunned Iran in the finals.
