Greece achieved a 3:0 (25:16, 25:18, 30:28) victory over Mexico led by Rafail Koumentakis who finished with 15 points scored. Greece coach Drikos Sotirios said: "It was one of the strangest matches in the history of Greek volleyball. We finished our match after midnight and we can say we will play two matches in one day. I’m satisfied with the result but first of all I’m satisfied with our performance, especially in the first two sets. It was normal what happened in the third set when we made some changes in our team, because Mexico has a fighting spirit as a team, but I think in the end of the set we played the way we had to in order to win this match".
