    Lisa Van Hecke funny serve

Why are Van Hecke and her Belgium coach Gert Vande Broek laughing at each other? Because Van Hecke just fired the longest serve ever. She served it so long it sailed past the court, over the boards and into the stands. Sometimes It's a good thing to have a sense of humor about the random things in volleyball. Japan beat Belgium 3:0 (26:24, 25:16, 25:15) on the fourth day of the FIVB World Grand Prix Finals at Ariake Coliseum in Tokyo on Saturday. Challenge system during match USA - Brazil

In the past few years, the Challenge System was implemented by the FIVB to assist in correctly determining calls. Here's an example of the importance of this system. In the Gold Medal Final between the USA and Brazil, just as Brazil thought they had won the first set 29:27, USA challenged for a replay claiming a net touch violation by Brazil. The officials reviewed the play and the video indeed showed a critical violation during the rally: Brazil's Murilo committed a net touch violation during the block. So instead of a win for Brazil, the set 1 was again tied at 28:28. USA eventually won that first set and the match: 31:29, 21:25, 25:20, 25:23.

Iran beat today Brazil 3:1 (25:21, 25:19, 23:25, 28:26) in the World League Final Six 2014. This result makes last year's winner Russia won't play in the semi-finals. Top scored player in Iran team was Amir Ghafour with 23 points, in Brazil Lucas Saatkamp with 18 points. After Iran’s qualification for the final four, Amir Ghafour said his team’s historic achievement is the result of hard training, and that they will keep improving their performances until they become champions. He said: "The others may be surprised, but for us this qualification is no surprise. We trained hard to win, we expected this result. We train to be champions, it’s not enough yet but we are training for it".
