Resovia Rzeszów - ACH Volley Ljubljana (full match)

In the first match of the semi-finals of CEV Cup 2011/12, Resovia Rzeszów defeated ACH Volley Ljubljana in three sets (28:26, 25:8, 25:17) clearly showing its supremacy especially in the second and third section of the sets. Thanks to such win the Poles have made a first step towards the finals. More than 4000 supporters at “Podpromie” sports hall spent a dazzling evening while their team won in a game which lasted for only 1 hour's and 15 minutes. The hero of the game was Georg Grozer of Resovia Rzeszów who scored 21 points (13 in attack, 5 aces and 3 blocks). “We are happy with the victory but we also know that it was only the first leg and the return game in Ljubljana will be decisive. Obviously ACH Volley didn’t play at their highest level but they can be very dangerous at home. We have to forget this victory very quickly and be focused on the second game in Slovenia", concluded Andrzej Kowal, head coach of Resovia Rzeszów. "The first set was very competitive but at the end the experience of the Polish players was crucial. Afterwards, we stopped playing our game. The mighty services of Marko Bojić and Georg Grozer made the difference. Saturday is a new day and we will definitely try to do our best and win in front of our supporters", commented Igor Kolaković, the head coach of the visiting team.
