Super battle between two fantastic teams of the last decade. Brazil, the current Olympic Champion (2004) and Italy, silver medal. Brazil team had some changes that season: the setter Marcelo Elgarten replaced Mauricio, two young and talented players, Murilo Endress and Samuel Fuchs came into the group. Italy, the current european champion in 2005, had a very strong team with players such as Mastrangelo, Vermiglio, Savani and the young Lasko, who came to court on the third set replacing Fei . For the super champion brazilian team, it was the first grand champions cup title.
