European Olympic Qualifications: Russia (Roster)

Vladimir Alekno has announced the wide squad of the Russian national team that will start preparations for the European Olympic Qualifications in Berlin. There are some surprises... Head coach of Russia decided to once again call legendary Sergey Teyukhin, while Alexander Volkov returns to the national team.

On the other side, Alekno decided not to include Alexander Butko in the wide roster!

Setters: Dmitri Kovalev, Sergei Grankin, Igor Kolodinskiy

Receivers: Evgeny Sivozhelez, Sergey Tetyukhin, Yuri Berezhko, Sergey Savin, Egor Kliuka, Alexander Markin

Opposites: Maxim Mikhaylov, Victor Poletaev, Konstantin Bakun

Middle Blockers: Dmitry Muserskiy, Ilya Vlasov, Artem Volvich, Andrey Ashev, Alexander Volkov, Dmitry Scherbinin

Libero: Aleksey Obmochaev, Alexei Verbov, Valentin Golubov, Artem Ermakov

The European Olympic Qualifications is scheduled for January 5-9 and it will be held in Berlin.

@Niamek: He is tall and has experience, but the only downside is that his knee has been bothering him for a long time. He has many caps for the NT, so it never hurts to call up experienced player that were on the team before. This is only the list for preparations, so he will probably not make the final roster because of the things I mentioned above.
