Brazil - Italy (short cut)

What a surprise. Italy has defeated Brazil in the first match of Group A at the FIVB World League 2014. The Italian team has celebrated after four sets (19:25, 25:27, 25:22, 21-:5) and Jiri Kovar was the best scorer of the match with 20 points. Opposite Leandro Vissotto topped the score to Brazil with 16 points. Italy coach Mauro Berruto was also happy with the win, but also said there was much for his team to work on. "Both teams are not in their best shape", Berruto said: "I think that Brazil and Italy will improve a lot in the next few matches. However, I am happy with the way that we played in the first and second sets. It was an important win for us. Tomorrow will be another difficult match". The second duel between the two teams will begin at 10:10 local time on May 24.
