HCLT even your the best in this buisness Rezende said Kurek is top class player and if there willl be possibility he wants him in Brazil NT.

Another guy that believes everything coaches say to local press... C’mon Zyta, help me with this one. I just can’t repeat the same explanation once more. lol

It’s funny all those reporters from so many countries always want to know if their main players could join our team. When Italy dominated our reporters never asked Julio Velasco or Bebeto de Freitas if our players would be on their squad.

I think Barto Cureque would be useful as our fourth left side. See, I’m a nice guy.

@czilikd - he said the same thing about Matey in Bulgaria during WL 2010 :D When he says those things,he's just being polite :)

@NightFox I just said Kaziyski isn't far better than Kurek(not Kurek is better). Also Kaziyski had the best phisical shape 3 years ago. Do you think Matey will reach 370 in age 30? HCLT even your the best in this business Rezende said Kurek was top class player and if there willl be possibility he wants him in Brazil NT. Provide link??? Probably you know better than your coach.

No, no, no, no... You said "unlimited". lol No other player can do that? Interesting... This Matey guy must be a god.

I don't mean 100% efficiency, I mean he can score in situations other players can't like blockout from fifth meter, spike vs triple block from bad angle or over the triple block. Unlimited in the ability to score tough points, not in ability to score all points.

No, no, no, no... You said "unlimited in spiking and serving”. The only thing the setter has to do is finding Matey on the court, which is easy as he’s a tall guy. Set him and... Score! Unlimited, remember? ;-)

This unlimitedness is the ability to spike what he receives as pass, If they don't pass enough balls he can't score them. Other example for unlimited player in spiking is Milijkovic, but Serbian tactic is more pragmatic - they send him more passes.

Well, once he's "unlimited in spiking and serving" I thought his team would always win. ;-)

Just because he can doesn't means that he does it in any match. May be he doesn't feel confident enough in Bulgarian NT with all those expectations :)

That irrelevant argument we started with Henrique...

I wasn’t even here. :-p
Quote (Raylight)
...was not about "is Matey Kaziyski limited player or not", it was about "does this matter"...

Wrong! Here’s the topic: “Is Matey Kaziyski second class player?”

As everyone can see, it was totally irrelevant, my friend.
Quote (Raylight)
My belief is that when you can score the most improbable points in the hardest situations and completely turn any match...

Any match? Wow! That’s why Bulgaria has won so many titles, right? After all, he can “turn any match”... ;-)

Pearl, I think you’ve mistaken “all-around” for “universal”. Giani played as left side, right side and middle player – he was universal. Bernardi was a left side, occasionally playing right side, like Giba and Murilo, for example, have done when necessary. An all-around player has all necessary skills for the game, and both Giani and Bernardi had those, no matter what position they were playing.

Henrique, I have no intention to interfer in the discussion between you and ray or you and "the rest of the world" :)...but, you mentioned some of "my guys" (Bernardi and Giani) and I just wanted to say that Giani more than Bernardi was an all-around player (or universal) according to what I remember: Lollo usually played as spiker and, only occasionally, as opposite, while i saw Giangio covering brilliantly all spots (except setter)! ;) You can back to your discussions now :D

That irreelevant argument we started with Henrique was not about "is Matey Kaziyski limited player or not", it was about "does this matter" since he is unlimited in spiking and serving. My belief is that when you can score the most improbable points in the hardest situations and completely turn any match like Trentinp - Cuneo recently, it doesn't matter that you are not complete player in every aspect. That was all the fuzz about. About Kurek, he is very good player, powerful, tall, but players like Kubiak and Ruciak are not less valuable for Poland :)

Thanks, I just thought that maybe you see sth more in these players that cannot be seen by less experienced fan. In general we judge players by comparing their main skills such as spike, reception, serve etc. I just thought that I can't notice sth more complicated.

You mean that thread Raylight should have never started? Can’t you see I was exaggerating to get our Bulgarian friend desperate? I even mentioned Matt Anderson, if I’m not mistaken. When I noticed Raylight was about to commit suicide, I stopped and admitted Matey’s qualities, though he’s not line-up material either for Brazil or Russia. If you analyze both players, you’ll see Matey Kaziyski and Barto Cureque have same style – they’re mainly vball hitters and servers, with clear flaws in other aspects. Kurek even blocks better than Matey, but overall the Bulgarian is a better player. Maybe, in a few years, Kurek will improve to the point he’ll have those flaws fixed or he’ll make less mistakes. Kaziyski has been playing for quite long time and still is that same player, a little smarter, but not that much. Anyway, who’d pick Kurek instead of Matey now? A highly efficient hitter or one without the same consistency? Unfortunately, I don’t have a crystal ball to see how Kurek will be in a few years... If you had read the previous comments, you’d have noticed I wasn’t the first to mention Matey Kaziyski on this thread. There’s no “Polish style of playing”. What your NT does comes from the old Soviet school, serve/block dependent teams. I bet Andrea Anastasi wants Kurek to improve. Think about it, AA played in one of the best teams of all time, with all-around players like Bernardi and Giani. Although everybody knows Poland has a different style, why would AA get satisfied with such a limited player like Barto Cureque? He surely wants more from this left side.

Hey HCLT, got a question. I remember that you said sht like "If Kurek had a little more experience Matey also wouldn't be a starter in polish NT"(you must remember that thread started by raylight). There is no doubt that Kaziyski is a better player so why did you make such statement? Kurek suits better to polish style of playing or what?

...But I will not argue about this because some people are very limited and they can't objective when we argue about a polish player.

Glad someone else can see this. They desperately hype their players, when most of them have clear limitations. Kurek, for example, isn’t a world class player. Anyone who understands vball can see that. BTW, comparing Matey Kaziyski to Barto Cureque is an absurd – Matey is a class above, though Kurek is improving. Matey freaks are drooling right now... lol

As for the movie, I read the comments first this time, and I was expecting a bomb, a hit over the block... WTF! The hit wasn’t impressive at all. Kurek himself can smash the ball harder – if you care about that. The block was late, so he had no block – the guy who wrote Kurek hit over the block must be blind or is certainly a Kurkofan.

Such a small space between the court and the crowd... It must be a very little venue.

so Nightfox ur saying that I should not try my best during practice. I don't jump that high but I always land on my left leg. My left knee becomes swollen. How do this not happen to matey?

Harleym,Have I played volleyball - that's difficult, can't remember. I think I'm not. Have I seen warm up smashes - hmmm no, not at all (never). I'm not talking only about this situation - I'm talking about his spikes and his game. Before 2007 Kaziyski was smashing every ball with the highest jump in every spike. Why do you think he changed his game ? Oohhh yes, because the people who really understand the game (the coaches) and I'm talking the good coaches(Russia 2006 Dynamo!) told him that he'll not be health if he plays that way. So what's the difference with Kurek ?

czilikd Why do you compare Kurek with Matey ? If I start an argue again about him - you (the polish) will say that we (bulgarians) compare again everybody with Matey hmmm.
And are you sure for this phisical abilities because Matey reached 379 - if you don't believe watch the 7th movie about him. But I will not argue about this because some people are very limited and they can't be objective when we argue about a polish player.

@RenanZ yes he does but above block ;) @Harleym It's from 2009 now Kurek does it twice a year not so usualy. And Matey isn't far better than Kurek who has better phisical abilities(375cm to spike from NT). Of course I used to play proffesional v-ball, in case if you will ask about that. But I confirm the way of spiking like that during match is bad idea.

hahaha nightfox, are you serious? Have you ever seen warm up smashes, have you ever played volleyball yourself? This ball isn't better for a person than any other ball they smash. I might even argue that it is better since hitting a ball cross "out of the shoulder" they call it in Dutch, that is what ruins a shoulder. It even destroys little mussles in your shoulder. Anyway, if this is bad for his health anything on the court would be, you'd know that if you played volleyball yourself I would imagine. Oh and by the way. The reason why not every player does this when they have the chance to, is because it is incredibly stupid, since hitting the ball deep gives you the same ensurance that you score the ball and you don't have the small chance of hitting a block that is low but extremely late, since you would hit over the block if that would happen. The best players won't do this for this reason. That is why Matey is so much better than Kurek, almost every ball is deep, or to the line.

Showman but he should start to think about his health. Because he would not be healthy if he continues to smash the balls like that every day.
