Though Serbia played with courage and determination, France was just too strong and too consistent to dissipate this chance of making the semis of Europe's premier Volleyball competition where they would challenge co-hosts Bulgaria before a crowd of more than 12,000 in Sofia. Antonin Rouzier scored 20 points, thereby winning the duel with Aleksandar Atanasijevic who recorded 16 points for Serbia.
