Mauro Beruto's team successfully started the final World League tournament organized in Florence. They won against USA national team in three sets (25:22, 25:21, 26:24). Ivan Zaytsev was top scorer with 21 points for Italy, while Anderson scored 17 points for USA. Italy’s Simone Parodi was delighted with his side’s straight set victory over USA on Wednesday in the FIVB World League, but believes that the Azzurri can do even better. Parodi said: "I’m very happy with the result, but I’m angry because we blacked out in the third set and we need to stop doing that. If we are going to win we need to play at our best all the way through".
