The latest winners of the World League are definitely expected to win Olympic medal, but all Poles know, how different this tournament is gonna be - everything may happen. Now in Poland we can see an increasing pressure, as Olympic Games began. However, it is obvious, how different this great tournament can go. Leon refused to play for Cuba's national team after not being allowed to play abroad. The 4-years suspension would be unprecedented, but the Cuban Volleyball Federation has the power to define the penalty with the approval of government. Typically, players who refuse to play for the national team get a two year suspension and after that resume their careers in different centers in Europe.12 13440

raylight ·USA national team celebrate their triumphant gold medal victory over the USSR at the Seoul Olympic Games 1988. Classic materials showing enthusiasm, spontaneity and energy of fans and players in the past. USA national team, led by the peerless Karch Kiraly (he was spontaneous, impulsive and energetic), came through the group phase unbeaten despite being taken to five sets by Argentina (who eventually finished third after beating Brazil in a marathon third-place match that lasted 3 hour's and 10 minutes). In the final, after dropping the first set USA proved too powerful for the USSR, winning 3:1 (13:15, 15:10, 15:4, 15:8). In the movie you can see such players like: Vyacheslav Zaytsev, Bob Ctvrtlik, Steve Timmons. The result of that game in the related movies.

Emanuele Birarelli (2nd movie)
Birarelli was born at Senigallia. He debuted in the Italian championship in 1998 for Pallavolo Falconara. He remained there until 2003, when he was diagnosed an arm ischemia which forced him away from the field for two years. He returned to play volleyball in 2005, first at Pineto, then for Verona and, from 2007, for Trentino Volley, with which he won an Italian national title in 2008. In the same year he debuted for Italy's national team. In 2009 he won the Champions League with Trentino Volley, a feat he repeated the following year. He is a member of Italy men's national volleyball team, a bronze medalist of the Olympic Games London 2012, a participant of the Olympic Games Beijing 2008, World League (2013, 2014) and silver medalist of European Championship (2011, 2013).21 4903 -
raylight ·Battle between two towers of volleyball: Russia and Bulgaria, teams which are well-known for their great play in a block. Vladimir Nikolov wasn't so effective like in previous matches. He had just 22% in attack. Matey Kaziyski played on his highest level, he was best scorer of that game (24 points, 48% in attack), while Mikhaylov had 35% and Tetyukhin 39%. There are Vladimir Alekno's words after match: "We've got 12 players who are all ready to play at any moment of the game. So that's our advantage. It just depends on whether my substitutions during the game make our play stronger or not." On decisions made by the referee, coach Martin Stoev said: "Unfortunately, as my captain has said, the three mistakes (made by the referee) were against us and they weren't good for us, especially the mistakes in the second set which was an important set for us. We could have won this game but those three mistakes helped the Russians.". Also added: "At the end of each set the Russians were playing better than us. But I will still thank all my players for their efforts in the Olympic Games and for fighting to the very end."

Italy - USSR (EuroVolley 1991 Final)
Soviet Union won their 12th title of European Champion. Two months ago USSR lost with Cuban team in the semi-final of World League 1991 Final Four played in Milan. Italy won that tournament (they won 8 of 11 editions in years 1990-2000, Russia didn't win even once). In the last 38th match of EuroVolley 1991 played in Berlin Soviet Union coached by magician: Vyacheslav Platonov was the best. Look at legends of Russian volleyball: Dmitry Fomin and Ruslan Olikhver. raylight ·Osmany Juantorena is an Italian-Cuban volleyball player. He currently plays as wing-spiker for Halkbank Ankara. He is a nephew of Alberto Juantorena, a Cuban former track runner and politician. He debuted in the Cuban first series aged 12, in the Orientales de Santiago. He remained in Cuba for seven years, before moving to Russian side Ural Ufa. In the meantime he also began to play for Cuba's national team, winning the bronze medal in the 2005 World League. In the late 2006 Juantorena was disqualified for two years after testing positive for Testosterone during the Central American and Caribbean Games. His return was delayed by the Cuban Volleyball Federation due to his decision to move to play to Italy. He remained in Trento until he could return to play in 2009. Playing for Trentino Volley, he won the FIVB Club World Championship, the Italian Cup and a European Champions League (he also obtained the title of MVP in the competition) in 2010.23 12549

Skra Bełchatów is celebrating victory in Polish Cup 2012. Jastrzębie didn´t have any chance in final and lost in three sets. Semi-finals were just awesome, full of emotions and good volleyball. Unfortunately, final wasn't such interesting. Atmosphere in hall - real hell ;-) In the first semi-final match Jastrzębie won after long battle over Kędzierzyn in five sets.
