He almost always hits the block apparently
Yeah I don't think he'd be a very good MB
You have to agree that Flier is a good opposite though!
No
And no peaking on google
Really? Then what is the difference between Marxism and Communism?
Osmany is not just a typical cuban player in that he is able to produce his level of skill very consitently. I checked statistics of Serie A and I could not find another player in history that scored more aces than errors.

Simon is a better OH than Juanto though, even though his a middble blocker. Murilo is a pretty good MB though.. also Flier is a good opposite.
Berny: you're the one that said Castro should be shot on account of slavery right? Uhmm shooting him is assassination, which is arguably worse than slavery.

Somewhere you have to admire Cuba for not being tempted by getting huge results in volleyball and just sticking to their values (however crap they may be).

Simon is the best middle blocker in the world.

Aww that's so sad that Poey and Potuondo had to work in construction.. perhaps that's where they got their huge physiques though.
WTF a Belgian club has 3,3 BILLION euros? That means they could get 3000 Juantorena's!
Haha funny to see them play together
It's not easy hitting first tempo attacks when the set is coming from behind. And it is especially hard to hit the left angle with that set, would've been easier to try and pass the block on the right hand side. Having said that, most middle attackers at serie A level can do this.. I have seen Bas van de Goor hit a set like that within the 3m line.
I hate people that always tell me that you don't always have to drill every spike home.. that subtle touches are better in a way. They work in combination with strong hits, but will never feel as good to me. Nice video though
I heard that when cuban players were allowed to play abroad for a brief while they had to send 95% of their salaries back to cuba to the government... that is communism obviously. I remember when half the NT escape with their pasports from a tournament in Belgium (amongst them were Dennis, Gato, Marshal and the Harnandez cousins).

I don't think Cuba will take back the players when the results fall.. they have never in the past. When Dennis and the rest left they were left with a crappy team (at the time) and they didn't seem to care. They just keep training their talents and the funny thing is that the succeed in creating really succesful teams everytime and then they all leave again.

Last time I checked Juantorena had more aces than faults, so that's probably why. I checked some time back and I don't know of anyone who was able to produce such figures. Perhaps Granvorka back in the day now that I think of it.
