The Italian victory also dealt a blow to the Netherlands' chances of qualifying after they suffered their third loss of the competition. Although there is still one game to be played the Netherlands can now not qualify due to an inferior set ratio. Andrea Sartoretti (11 points), Samuele Papi (10) and Matey Cernic (10) reached double figures for the winners, while Schuil (16 points) was the only Dutch player with more than 10 points.
