Lube Banca Macerata - Zenit Kazan (Highlights)
The first round of the Champions League 2013/14. Hit of that round was match between Lube Banca Macerata and Zenit Kazan ("group of death" with Macerata, Kazan, Lokomotiv Novosibirsk and Posojilnica AICH/DOB) . Team coached by Alberto Giuliani finally won that game. The hosts won all sets (27:25, 25:21, 25:22). Bartosz Kurek was MVP of that match. Polish wing-spiker scored 17 points. Kurek finished 15 of 21 balls in attack. It was 71% efficiency in attack! He had also 2 aces. Italian champion from Macerata with stars like Kurek, Zaytsev, Podrascanin and Henno is main favorite to win the Champions League in that season. "Lube definitely deserved to win tonight but we also helped them a lot with our mistakes and shaky performance", commented Zenit Kazan 40-year old setter Nikola Grbić.

Lube was simply perfect: Zaytsev (who's the new captain) was impressive, as well as Potke and Stankovic. I liked Kurek a lot even though his performance was excellent on attack but not so good on reception and service, but I'm sure he'll improve. Kovar is slowly recovering his shape (but I hope Parodi will be ready to play as a starter quickly). My personal praise, though, goes to Michele Baranowicz who managed the game and all his teammates brilliantly: smart choices, very few mistakes, Always in control and great vision of the game, bravo!!
As for Zenit: it wasn't easy for them especially because the chemistry between Grbic and his new teammates is still (obviously) lacking and some players (mikhailov and apalikov mainly) didn't show their best.

@pearl: Zaytsev is unreal, although I'm not sure for Kurek. His reception has always been quite weak, and it's to be seen how he'll handle real pressure.
