The national team of Germany isn't the same anymore like 'the old days', just like Holland. But Holland can do better than this, for Germany i think it's a long long way for them back to the top! The will have to work hard, especially with the youth..

If I remember correctly, they got their ass kicked in this tournament. At least Holland won every match against them and I'm pretty sure they weren't able to beat that Russian team either.

i fail to see how other countries in the same continent have an effect on germany's volleyball-ing?...

Germany (as a country) ins't that strong in Volleyball because, in the cotinent, have too many other countries with strong teams, like Russia, Poland, Bulgaria, etc.... Nevertheless, they can, will and have to grow a lot...
