FIVB World Ranking before EuroVolley 2013

The latest FIVB World Ranking predicts an incredibly tough VELUX EuroVolley 2013 this September. No less than six of the top ten teams are qualified for the final round in Denmark and Poland.



When the 2013 CEV VELUX Volleyball European Championship - Men begins the 20th of September it will not only be some Europe’s best volleyball players who will fight for the gold in Denmark and Poland.

The latest world ranking from FIVB shows that the fans can look forward seeing some of the world’s best players at the championship.

Though Brazil is still number 1, the next three spots are held by European teams. The Olympic and World League winners from Russia takes 2nd position. At the VELUX EuroVolley 2013 Russia will play in pool D in Gdynia in Poland.

Not only at the Olympics and World League Italy took 3rd place. Also at this World Ranking the Azzurri takes third position. Italy will play in pool A in Odense in Denmark.

Poland, Serbia, Bulgaria and Germany are the last four teams in top ten at the World Ranking.

The ranking of the teams qualified for VELUX EuroVolley2013 are:

Italy 3rd place (Group A)
Poland 4th place (Group B)
Serbia 7th place (Group C)
Bulgaria 9th place (Group D)
Germany 10th place (Group D)
France 18th place (Group B)
Czech Republic 22nd place (Group D)
Slovakia 26th place (Group B)
Finland 31st place (Group C)
Netherlands 33rd place (Group C)
Slovenia 37th place (Group C)
Belgium 41st place (Group A)
Turkey 48th place (Group B)
Belarus 53rd place (Group A)
Denmark 68th place (Group A)
