Please, do not try this at home! Quarter squats are not only ineffective, they are dangerous - all the tension is on the knee, instead on the hamstrings, hips and quads. Only squatting bellow parallel is safe and productive technique. If you want to use that particular range of motion, use it with leg press, but with proper form to protect the lower back, the leg press is not safe just because it is a machine.
