Anderson played poorly, not all his fault though, Suxho's sets were bad in location and didn't fool the Italians at all.
Karen91, here is a linkto the two players who might be our next opposite:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--5Zm0j0RLU One is on each team, Carson Clark is the left hander, Murphy Troy is the taller right hander. Tell me what you think! Clark is 22, and Troy is 23.

You all forget the best blocker on the best blocking team in the world. David Lee of Team USA.

Sander, Menzel and Shoji, all future stars. Sander dominated Brazil in the PanAm games today, he had 23 points in our 3-1 win. He is only twenty! Shoji's younger brother Erik will be on the NT soon as well.

Yes tommy, Anderson is playing in Russia too, for Zenit Kazan! It's silly to criticize him for one game, which wasn't even his fault. Americans always take longer to develop because they don't get as much training time when they're younger and then they go waste away in the college game where they aren't pushed to get better. After a year at Kazan in the Russian league and then the Champions League he will be top 10 in the world.

Matthew Anderson is certainly not average. He is not as good as Kurek or Mikhailov but he is still one of the best players in the world. It is not his fault that Lambourne couldn't make a pass to save his life. He was hitting against a well formed double or triple block every play, he did as well as anyone could have.
Congratulations to Kurek and Poland, still one of my favorite players even though he beat us.
Matthew Anderson going to Kazan along with Mikhailov and Volkov and everyone else coming back. They should be the favorites.

Kawika Shoji plays for Berlin SCC, hopefully he will be our NT setter by 2014.

His little brother Erik Shoji just finished his last year with Stanford. He is the best college libero ever, and he will probably play professionally in Europe next year.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqvirZHJWr8 Skip to 1:52, he is the best amateur player in the America right now.

Their setter is Joe K, he's one of the best in college. No, unfortunately he won't be playing for the national team though, several guys out of college were invited to train with the team but they will not actually be on the world league or Olympic rosters.

In the video he is 18 and 19, and now he is 20. He's gotten much, much better since then. Unfortunately he will probably return to BYU instead of going pro early like Matt Anderson or Clay Stanley. He won't get any better playing in USA college leagues.
